Doulas Shut Out of Hospitals? DTD To The Rescue!

Dear Doulas,

Last year, several hospitals in my area decided that completion certificates from my trainings were sufficient credentials to allow doulas into their hospitals. This has been working several months without any issues.

So I have created a toolkit to help change the rules if YOU are currently blocked from attending births at your local hospital. Together, we can help to illuminate administrators about doula trainings and credentials!

I've created the Doulaing The Doula Alumni Toolkit to help influence doula policy. It includes a lengthy letter explaining about doula certification; details about your training; my credibility and willingness to stand by the training you have received. I will help if there are any conflicts with doulas performing outside of their role. Read the letter here:
